Critique of AT&T’s Project Lightspeed
Posted on 03.30.06

The Nyquist Capital blog discusses shortcomings of the AT&T Project Lightspeed Fiber to the Node network. The specific criticism is that it is a shotsighted decision not to bring fiber all the way to the customer, and that AT&T will be forced to do so in a short period of time anyway due to bandwidth demand. Also AT&T’s IPTV plans are put to task as an imperfect solution to the bandwidth constraint imposed by the FTTN architecture.
