FTTH in New Development in North Carolina

The Walthom Group of Clayton, developer of Portofino (a North Carolina housing development), has reached an agreement with its builders to provide Fiber to the Premise (FTTP) technology to every home in the new community. A service of EMBARQ, FTTP will provide fiber optic cable directly into every home in the Portofino neighborhood.

  1. The Press Release doesn’t specify the technology used: active Ethernet, EPON, BPON, GPON?
    Can anybody enlighten us?

  2. Embarq has some sort of relationship with Wave7 so I would guess, and it’s only a guess, that the Trident 7 platform (PON) will be used.
