Nyquist Capital has published part II of The Future of FTTH in China. This piece focuses on which passive optical networking technology will prevail in China, GPON or GEPON. As a pre-amble, a nice comparison between GPON and GE-PON is given along with current deployments in Asia. The conclusion seems to be that GE-PON will prevail based on Japanse, Korean and Taiwanese deployments. Active Ethernet/Ethernet-based LAN is not mentioned in this piece. Will there be significant Active Ethernet deployment in China? Hong Kong is brought to mind. Filed under: Business and Technology Comments: 1 Comment »RSS feed for comments on this post. Active Ethernet is addressed in part V, which will be published in two weeks.
