A recent post in Nyquist Capital gives an analysis of GEPON chip vendors Teknovus and Passave. Although Passave took the early lead in shipping product to Mitsubishi in Japan for the NTT FTTH deployment, Teknovus has recently introduced a chipset that meets NTT’s requirements for dynamic bandwidth allocation and other features. This puts the Teknovus chipset at parity with Passave allowing Teknovus to compete for the NTT/Mitsubishi business. Also recent proposals for 10 Gbit/s EPON give Teknovus additional momentum. Nyquist Capital speculates that Teknovus is now an attractive acquisition target. Filed under: Business and Technology Comments: No Comments »No comments yet. RSS feed for comments on this post.
